Service FAQs
Domain transfer is not allowed during the Grace/Redemption Period or Pending Delete status on Our Portal. In such cases, the domain must first be restored before it can be transferred.
No, you cannot update DNS during a domain transfer; you must update the nameservers before initiating the transfer to prevent downtime. The DNS will propagate to the new settings once the transfer is complete, but since you can't make changes during the transfer process, you should update the nameservers beforehand
After domain expiration, the domain enters a 30-day ICANN Redemption Period. During this time, you can restore your domain by paying the redemption fee plus the renewal fee.
Yes, domains can be transferred to another registrar if not in Redemption Period. ICANN rules apply and transfer usually includes a 1-year renewal.

No. When you replace your domain’s default nameservers with custom, private, child, or any external third-party nameservers, you will not be able to manage DNS records (A, TXT, CNAME, MX, SRV, etc.) from this panel. Even if you try to update them here, the changes will not work. This happens because once custom nameservers are applied, all DNS management automatically shifts to the hosting provider or the service where your nameservers are pointed.

A TLD (Top-Level Domain) is the extension at the end of a domain name, such as .com, .in, .org, etc. It helps identify the type or category of a website.
A domain name is your website’s unique address on the internet, such as example.com. Instead of remembering long IP numbers, users can simply type your domain name to visit your site.
A Registry Operator is the organization responsible for managing a specific TLD. They maintain the database of all registered domains under that TLD. For example, VeriSign manages the .com and .net TLDs.
A registrant is the individual or organization that owns or registers a domain name. When you buy a domain, you become the registrant of that domain.
A registrar is a company authorized to sell and manage domain names on behalf of registry operators. Gitysoft, for example, allows you to search, buy, and manage your domain easily.
WHOIS is a publicly accessible database that provides information about a registered domain, including the owner’s name, registration date, and contact details. Some details may be hidden for privacy reasons.
RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol) is the modern alternative to WHOIS. It provides domain ownership data in a structured, secure, and more privacy-focused format.
RDDS (Registration Data Directory Services) includes both WHOIS and RDAP systems. It provides access to domain registration information across the internet.
New TLDs like .shop, .tech, .studio, etc., help businesses get more specific and memorable domain names. They offer branding flexibility when traditional TLDs like .com are already taken.
DNS (Domain Name System) is like the phonebook of the internet. It converts human-friendly domain names into IP addresses so browsers can load the correct website.
An authorization code is a secure key required to transfer your domain from one registrar to another. You can find it in your current registrar’s domain control panel or by requesting it from their support.
To transfer your domain, unlock it at your current registrar, get the authorization code, and start the transfer on Gitysoft. Enter the auth code, verify your email, and the transfer will be completed, usually within 5–7 days.
Web hosting is a service that stores your website’s files and makes them available online. Without hosting, your website cannot be accessed on the internet.
Shared hosting means multiple websites share a single server. It is affordable, beginner-friendly, and suitable for small to medium websites that don’t require large resources.
You can track visitors using tools like Google Analytics, which shows traffic, user behavior, page views, and more. Gitysoft hosting also provides basic traffic stats in the control panel.
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encrypts data transferred between your website and its visitors. It activates the https:// prefix and displays a padlock icon in the browser, ensuring trust and security.
Yes, you can upgrade your hosting plan anytime. Whether your website grows or you need more speed and storage, Gitysoft makes upgrades quick and seamless.
No, transferring your domain is optional. You can host your website with Gitysoft while keeping your domain with another registrar. However, having everything in one place makes management much easier.
A TLD (Top-Level Domain) is the extension at the end of a domain name, such as .com, .in, .org, etc. It helps identify the type or category of a website.
A subdomain is a subdivision of your main domain, such as blog.example.com. Businesses use them for sections like support, store, blog, or landing pages.
Parked domains are unused domains that point to your main website or display a simple placeholder page. They are often purchased for brand protection or future use.
An IP address is a unique string of numbers assigned to every device connected to the internet. DNS uses it to locate your website on a server.
DNS (Domain Name System) translates domain names into IP addresses. Without DNS, users would have to type long IP numbers to visit websites.
A domain name server stores DNS records and tells browsers where to find your website. It’s the system that connects your domain to your hosting server.
To register a domain, search for your preferred name on Gitysoft, select a TLD, and complete the checkout. Registration is instant once payment is done.
Domain registrars are companies accredited to sell domain names to customers. They provide tools to search, register, renew, and manage your domains easily.
Even with a professional email, messages can go to the spam folder due to several reasons. These include poor domain reputation, users marking emails as spam, low engagement (emails not being opened or read), incorrect email authentication, or sudden bulk sending. Email providers like Google judge emails based on past behavior, not just whether the email is paid or professional.
DMARC is an email security policy that tells email providers how to handle emails that fail authentication checks. It helps prevent email spoofing and phishing by allowing domain owners to decide whether such emails should be delivered, sent to spam, or rejected. DMARC also provides reports to monitor email misuse.
SPF (Sender Policy Framework) is a DNS record that defines which mail servers are allowed to send emails on behalf of your domain. If an email is sent from an unauthorized server, it may be marked as spam or rejected. A correct SPF record improves email trust and delivery.
An MX (Mail Exchange) record tells the internet which mail server should receive emails for your domain. Without a proper MX record, emails cannot be delivered to your inbox. It is essential for receiving emails correctly.
A Domain is your website’s name on the internet (for example, example.com). A Registry is the central authority that manages and maintains all domain records for a specific domain extension (like .com, .in). A Registrar is an ICANN-authorized company that sells domain names to customers and communicates with the registry. A Reseller is a company or individual that sells domains on behalf of a registrar. The reseller provides customer support, while the registrar and registry handle the actual domain management.
